Mélange 2016: Youth festival in Zunheboto Town

Zunheboto, March 12 (MExN): Zünheboto Town Youth Organisation (ZTYO) is all geared up to organize ‘Mélange 2016’, a youth festival, under the theme ‘Being Sümi’ from April 21 to 23 at Zunheboto Town. The festival is the kick start event of ‘Awake Zünheboto’ campaign, which was officially launched by ZTYO during its general session in February. The youth organisation projected Awake Zünheboto as its flagship campaign for the current year 2016.   The campaign was launched to promote advancement and progress of youth related activities, and also to cultivate pride in our rich cultural identity. “It is about leading both our dedicated and wayward youths to right paths leading to advancement in all aspects of life, and moulding them into good citizens of society,” ZTYO said.

The festival, according to the organizers, “aims to revivify our cultural heritage, fuse it with modernity, and create platform to perform in literary and fine arts and games and sports.” The mélange of recreational activities is aimed at promoting and bringing about a change in Zünheboto in line with ZTYO motto ‘Be The Change’.   The three-day celebration extravaganza will witness various competitions in cultural, games & sports and literary events. The participants of the various events will be youth representing all the eleven colonies/ wards under Zunheboto Town.   The organizers have a night carnival planned for the duration of the festival. Individuals and groups who wish to open stall can collect the forms from ZTYO's office at Project Colony, Zunheboto and submit the same on or before April 10.   The festival also has a fashion event, 'Ombre Minutiae', featuring Lomi Shikhu, Beauty, Hair & Make up expert/stylist along with local designers. Interested models and designers can register for the same before March 21. There will also be a workshop on Hair & Makeup with Lomi Shikhu as the resource person.   On the third day of the festival, there will be a youth conclave, for which the organizers have extended invitations to all Nagas, Sümi youths, and well wishers who have ties with Zunheboto Town.   With The Morung Express as the official media partner, RAMP fashion magazine as online partner and sponsor, the organizers have welcomed interested sponsors and partners for the event.   For details and information contact Vinoka K.
