Meluri, April 28 (MExN): A district-level stakeholder consultation workshop on Viksit Nagaland @2047 was held at the DBs Court, DC Office, Meluri on April 27, with participation from government departments, civil society organisations, NGOs, private sector representatives, village leaders and community stakeholders.

According to the State DIPR, while welcoming the participants, Additional Deputy Commissioner Meluri Shelly Katiry underscored the importance of inclusive planning for a progressive and self-reliant Nagaland by 2047.

The workshop aimed to gather multi-sectoral perspectives, identify existing developmental gaps, and formulate practical targets for 2030 and 2047 under short-term, medium-term and long-term planning frameworks.

A sectoral overview was presented based on the five thematic pillars of Viksit Nagaland @2047:  economic development, social development, environmental sustainability, infrastructure development, and governance and institutional strengthening.

Participants were later divided into breakout groups aligned to the five pillars for focused discussions on existing challenges, strategic priorities, and the needs of marginalised and remote communities.

During the plenary session, each group presented recommendations, proposed interventions and policy suggestions. Inputs were shared on improving livelihood opportunities, strengthening agriculture and allied sectors, enhancing healthcare and education services, and promoting sustainable resource management.

While the workshop discussions covered a range of issues and sectoral concerns, the official report did not elaborate on many of the specific points raised or the outcomes of the deliberations.
