Meluri dist upgrade takes center stage at Phek DPDB meeting

PHEK, NOVEMBER 13 (MExN): The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for Phek was held on November 12 at the DPDB Hall, Phek, under the chairmanship of Advisor and DPDB Chairman, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe.

In his address, Chairman Nyuthe expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Nagaland, the legislators of Phek district, led by Minister for Power & Parliamentary Affairs, KG Kenye, and the Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) for their support in successfully upgrading Meluri to a full-fledged district. 

Deputy Commissioner of Phek, John Tsulise Sangtam, also expressed happiness over the newly upgraded Meluri district. 

He congratulated the people of Meluri and their representatives for this milestone. DC Sangtam further instructed all district heads to continue managing official matters and activities for Meluri from the Phek headquarters until all necessary offices are established in the new district.

The board discussed and recommended several key proposals, including the creation of a District Child Protection Office, the establishment of a Sakhi One Stop Centre, and the setting up of an Observation Home in the newly upgraded Meluri district. 

Additionally, the District Statistical Officer and the Station Superintendent of Nagaland State Transport, Phek, presented updates on their respective departmental activities.
