Kohima, March 17 (MExN): The Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship conducted a training on basic steel fabrication at the Town Hall, Meluri on March 16.
Deputy Commissioner Meluri, Mhathung Tsanglao, attending as the guest speaker, encouraged youths to take advantage of skill development opportunities provided by the government.
He noted that the present scenario does not allow for employment of all educated youths in government jobs, and urged participants to pursue such training with vigour and enthusiasm.
Emphasising the importance of skill-based livelihoods, he said that acquiring proper training enables individuals to become self-reliant and independent, while also contributing to society.
Earlier, a brief overview of the training under “Providing Access to Core Employability Skills (PACES)” was presented by Tenempong Longchar of Zynirique Initiative Society.
Altogether, 25 trainees registered and attended the programme, which was chaired by DEO Phek, Kulo Kezo, informed the State DIPR.
