Kohima, Oct 15 (MExN): Mengujuma village women have introduced an exclusive traditional dress called, ‘Nourhepfhenei.’ ‘Nourhe’ stands for co-operation while ‘pfhenei’ means dress in Angami. The dress was inaugurated by chief guest, Kevinourhenuo Seyie, President of Angami Women Organization, (AWO) at Mengujuma village council hall on October 14.
In a simple yet impressive function, Kevinourheno said that since Mengujuma village is a village in Angami area, another new traditional dress has been added to the collection and lauded the women for their innovation.
She appreciated the creativity involved in coming out with the dresss designed by Zenei-ü Naprantsu, while hoping that with co-operation, one can plan big things and with co-operation, dreams can materialize into reality.
She said that women have a very important role in the society as peace makers and if women are good, positive things can evolve in the society. She donated Rs.10, 000 to the women organization.
Earlier exhorting women, Alhou Dzüvichü, Advisor of Northern Angami Women Organization, NAWO said that women have to be embodiments of good qualities to lead the society while adding that women need to have the right combination of worldliness and spiritual attributes.
Other highlights included a free medical camp organized by the AWO with Dr.Vezokholü and Dr. Neisakho, assisted by Khrielievino. A display of local produce and traditional dresses by the SHGs was also held.
The meeting was chaired by Kedipfeü Mor, Chairperson of Mengujuma Women Organization while Krubeizono Sechu said the invocation. Earlier Dziesevino Seyie welcomed the attendees while Vikuoü and Rokuovinuo sang with their friends. The vote of thanks was offered by Setuonuo Seyie.
