Men’s Inter-District Tournament: Tseminyu continue winning streak

Sovima, April 24 (MExN): Tseminyu secured their second consecutive win on Wednesday, defeating Peren in the qualifying rounds of the ongoing Men's Senior Inter-District Tournament 2024 organised by the Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA). 
 

Batting first in the match against Peren at the Sovima Cricket Ground, Tseminyu scored 152/10 in 29.5 over. 
 

With a strong bowling attack, Tseminyu restricted Peren to just 81 runs, clinching a commanding victory by 71 runs. 
 

Nuntilo Magh of Tseminyu was declared 'Player of the Match' for his impressive six-wicket haul, conceding 33 runs.
 

In their first match on April 23, Tseminyu defeated Phek by a convincing 163 runs at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium. Henry Kent was awarded 'Player of the Match' for his 4/19 performance. 
 

With their second win on Wednesday, Tseminyu topped the qualifying rounds table with four points.
 

In another match on April 24, Mon secured their first win by defeating Zunheboto by nine wickets. Zunheboto managed to score only 58 runs, and Mon chased down the target in just 7.1 over, losing only one wicket.
 

Mon's Santosh Kumar was named 'Player of the Match' for his unbeaten 26 runs and taking three wickets for seven runs.
 

On April 23, Longleng defeated Peren by 204 runs after posting 280 runs in their innings. Peren's response folded for 76 runs. Arjun Kumar Yadav of Longleng was awarded 'Player of the Match' for his 82 runs and 2/15 in bowling.
 

The Men's Senior Inter-District Tournament 2024 is being played in one-day 50 over per side format.
 

The bottom seven teams from past tournaments are playing qualifying rounds in two groups, with the winners advancing to the final rounds to compete with the top six district teams.
 

The teams in qualifying rounds are Zunheboto, Mon and Kiphire placed in Group-A and Phek, Tseminyu, Longleng and Peren in the Group-B. 
 

In the final rounds, Mokokchung, Kohima, Dimapur and the winner of Qualifier Group-A are in Group A while Niuland, Wokha, Chümoukedima and the winner of Qualifier Group-B are in the Group-B.
 

The tournament, which began on April 23, will conclude on May 7.
