Dimapur, March 9 (MExN): Teacher’s under District Mental Health Programme today attended a one day training programme at IDSP, Conference Hall, IMDH Mokokchung.
The resource persons were Dr. Temsuyanger Nodal Officer DMHP and Akumjungla Msc.Psychiatric (Nurse). During the training, Dr Temsuyanger said the teachers were the torch bearers of the society especially in the rural area and urged them to act as an agent to identify and refer not only students but also anyone suspected to be suffering from mental illness in their locality for early treatment.
Different types of mental illness, the plight of those suffering as well as their relatives, and the myths related to the mental illness were also presented and discussed during the training programme.
