Kohima, June 20 (MExN): Principal Secretary, School Education, Menukhol John, IA &AS today launched the CDAC SMS Service for Pension and GPF by intimating 28 pensions and GPF final cases at the Office of the Principal Accountant General (A&E), Kohima.
Recalling his history in the department serving as an Assistant AG, John said that the department was in a pathetic condition facing so many difficulties and issues in infrastructure, communications, technologies etc which made the department insecure as well as making the workload of the department heavier resulting in delaying to bring out the files of GPFs, Pensions and other additional files.
But the dynamic leadership of the present officers and with the latest technologies added, the load of the department has reduced bringing out transparency and well documented datas, he said.
John applauded the officers and staffs for transforming and changing the image of the department into one of the most automated office in the country and appreciated them for taking up this challenge and overcoming a milestone to facilitate such service to the people.
John mentioned that AG has become paperless in a lot of extent contributing to environment protection as well and as himself proud to be a part of this historic progression in bringing the evolutionary change to the department.
Principal Accountant General, E Mhonbemo Patton, IA & AS, highlighted on Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) SMS Service for Pension and GPF. He mentioned C-DAC is the premier R&D organization of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) for carrying out R&D in IT, Electronics and associated areas. Different areas of C-DAC had originated at different times, many of which came out as a result of identification of opportunities.
Once the CDAC SMS Service is launched, the Pensioners will receive SMS in their Mobile Phone in 3 to 4 stages - on receipt of Pension and GPF documents in this office, on sending of Confirmation Letter to the Concerned Department. On sending clarification letter to the concerned Department in case of incomplete documents/information and on completion/settlement of the Pension/GPF case.
He also requested all the partner departments to continue their support and send their feedbacks to improve the flow of the online working system.
Patton further directed all the retiring employees to provide their mobile telephone numbers along with pension/GPF documents to access this service and requested the clients to access their status by exploring the website of the department www.agnagaland.gov.in.
