‘Merger for Naga welfare,’ says Zhaleo

Kohima, November 29 (MExN): In one of its first meetings after the merger of the NDPP and NPF, the 5th Ghaspani-II, Assembly Constituency has come together under the banner of the Naga People’s Front in its get together annual picnic-cum meeting on November 28 in Ruzaphema, with Urban Development & Municipal Affairs advisor Zhaleo Rio as the chief host.

Addressing the meeting, Rio expressed his happiness over the accommodative nature of the party workers and supporters during the minor reshuffle that took place after the merger. He said that sincere efforts are in progress to bring everyone onboard the family of the NPF Party.

He also stated that the merger happened on issue based for the welfare of the Nagas.

With NPF as the oldest regional political party in the entire Northeast, he said, “It is an honor to be part and parcel of the NPF Party that works for the greater cause of the Nagas.”

Rio assured that he will extend all necessary support and assistance towards the people of his constituency through various  governmental  agencies  and departmental work programmes.

He urged upon the party workers and supporters to work with dedication and commitment to strengthen the party at all levels.

While fully endorsing the merger of the NDPP and the NPF, the speakers during the discussion hour conveyed sincere  appreciation to Zhaleo Rio for his pro- developmental approaches  within the  constituency  and further pledged to strengthen his leadership with renewed sincerity and commitment.

The meeting also adopted a three point resolutions. The house warmly welcomed and supported the merger between the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party and the Naga People’s Front, stating “This merger is viewed as a positive step towards strengthening regional unity, ensuring political stability and advancing the collective aspirations of the Naga people.”

The house has placed on record  its unwavering support to Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio and further reaffirmed its full confidence on Zhaleo Rio to lead the 5th Ghaspani - II, Assembly Constituency, for the foreseeable future, and guide the Constituency towards sustainable progress and development.

The House under the guidance of Zhaleo Rio earnestly appeals the leaders and members who have departed from the party to return and reaffirm their commitment, thereby, strengthening the NPF leadership under Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio.
