Kohima, February 11 (MExN): In view of the upcoming assembly election, and with a view to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in the colony, the Merhulietsa Panchayat, Ward 18 Paramedical, Kohima have resolved that “setting up of election camps within the territorial limits of the colony is strictly prohibited. Candidates, political parties and supporters are requested to strictly comply with these directives of the colony.”
It also resolved during the emergency executive meeting held on February 10 that outsiders and non-residents shall not be permitted to participate in the electoral process and are advised to stay away from the immediate precincts of the Polling Station during polling hours. Defaulters shall be liable to penalties.
Candidates, their supporters and the general public have also been requested to take note and extend due cooperation to the colony authorities, in the greater interest of one and all concerned
