Meritorious students felicitated during Peren DPDB meeting

PEREN, JUNE 14 (MExN): Meritorious HSLC & HSSLC students from Peren districts were felicitated in a special programme during the Peren District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting held under the chairmanship of Dy CM & Chairman, DPDB Peren, TR Zeliang at DC's conference hall, Peren on June 14. 

Zeliang, in his address, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the students and said that success is not merely measured by marks and ranks, but by the growth they have experienced and the knowledge they have gained. 

He also acknowledged the dedicated faculty and the respective institutions since their commitment to nurturing and educating the students has been exemplary. To the parents and guardians of the students, he said their unwavering support and belief in their children have played a pivotal role in their success, as they have been the pillars of their children strength, guiding them through their academic journey and instilling in them the values of hard work and resilience. 

Further, Zeliang encouraged the students to be bold, curious and most importantly be kind and humble and carry forward the spirit of excellence and make a positive impact wherever they go.

The successful students include Asmita Mukherjee (Rank 11 & Subject Topper), Rebika Tamang (Subject Topper), Nambagwangle (Governor's Award for Govt School). The Dy CM also felicitated Asenla Pongen, Principal of Govt Hr Sec School, Jalukie for her excellent service for consistently achieving above average pass percentage in HSLC Exams and officers from various departments involved in adoption of schools.

At the meeting, the members discussed on extension of land patta cancellation at Peren New Hq where in the house decided to extend the deadline up to the month of December 2024. In the meeting, the proposal for construction of water reservoirs at Peren New Hq and proposal for SDRF personnel at Peren district was also approved to be forwarded to the higher ups for necessary action.

The house also deliberated on the agenda of ban on hunting at Peren New Hq wherein the DC said an order in this regard will be issued by his office.

The house has also re-constituted the LADP Verification Committee for 6-Tening and 7-Peren ACs. Executive Engineer (PHED), Er Bursenla Ao gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the status of water supply at Peren Town and Peren New Hq.
