A thanksgiving programme for Mestubo Jamir, Minister for Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, who is the people’s representative from 27 Mokokchung Town A/C, was held today at his private residence here.
The Minister, while speaking with the media persons after the thanksgiving programme, emphasized on urban development where sanitation, hygiene and health take center stage.
He asserted that the task for urban development is big; and therefore, implied that he will need the cooperation of the landowners when he said he will be speaking with the landowners for urban development.
On his task as the Urban Development minister, Metsubo Jamir, who was the director of Rural Development, simply said, “The process of rural development is urbanization.” He stated that the flagship rural programmes initiated by the Government are aimed at development, and therefore urban development and rural development go hand in hand.
A host of party workers, supporters and well wishers attended the thanksgiving programme held at his private residence at Sangtemla Ward, Mokokchung Town. Party workers, Ward Council members, and others spoke at the programme, where MTBA pastor Rev Ponen delivered the main speech.
