The Mezoma Students’ Union (MSU) today held its 74th general conference at Mezoma village in Kohima district under the theme “Future forward: Innovating student advocacy.”

Addressing the 1st Session (Class A-7), Vikrolie Angami, Joint Director, School Education, Government of Nagaland, called upon the students to adopt a clear vision to excel and make the society proud. To be the best, he impressed the students to be disciplined, punctual and be committed. “You should brace up and be the best in your respective field of study to become an asset to the society,” he said.

Addressing the 2nd session (Class 8 and above), Khrielievi Chüsi, former president of Angami Youth Organization, stressed on the need to explore new ideas to response to the pressing challenges. He said that innovation in advocacy is important “because it can help advocates achieve our goals more effectively, respond to changing circumstances, stand out from the crowd, use resources more efficiently, and empower individuals and communities to take action.”

Western Angami Students’ Union (WASU) President Mhiesisekho and Angami Students’ Union (ASU) Vice President (Hq) Thejalhoukho Khawakhrie also shared greetings.

Representatives from Mezoma Village Council, Mezoma Women Organization, Mezoma Youth Organization and School Management Committee Mezoma also exhorted the gathering. Ruopfiizeko Lhousa, Assistant Professor, Fazl Ali College Mokokchung shared “My Journey.”

Earlier, MSU President Silievi Kehie and Vice President Rokohehie Khawakhrie delivered welcome address in the 2nd and 1st session respectively.
