Phek, January 15 (MExN): The 4th phase social audit district level public hearing under MGNREGS for Phek district was held at DRDA Conference Hall, Phek Town on January 15.
S Laktumong Quinger, PO, DRDA, Phek was the chairperson for the hearing, stated an update received here. The hearing began with introduction by Vepo Keyho, State Resource Persoo, NSSAA, SAID, Nagaland who gave do introduction to social audit and district level public hearing and also the importance of social audit to have transparency and accountability in the implementation of the scheme.
It was followed by review presentation of social audit findings of all 10 villages (i.e. Meluri, Khumiasu, Akhegwo, Kukhegwo and Matikhru villages under Meluri Block and Zhavame, Zeluma, Chcbama, Enhuiumi and Mesulumi villages under Chizami block).
Presentation on the social audit findings was presented by Khrutalu Shijoh and Kelanu Thapo, District Resource Persons, NSSAA, SAU, Nagaland, the release said.
Discussions were followed after the presentations were being read out. N Joshua Tikhir, EAC, Phek representing the District Administration spoke on the importance of social audit, which has its social impact in villages. He encouraged the people working at the grassroot level to work harder in future as they are the people initiating development activities at the lowest strata of administration.
The programme concluded with public hearing resolution and vote of thanks by the chairperson, it added.
