Dimapur, March 21 (MExN): MGOS (Mar Gregorios Orthodox Syrian) Church in Dimapur celebrated Palm Sunday on March 20, where Morning Prayer, Holy Mass, and special Palm Sunday services were held in the morning. Palm Sunday procession and blessings on palms and special prayers were also held. This week, special Passion Week prayers will be conducted in the church.
A press release from Fr. PS Varghese, the parish priest, informed that during the Passion Week, there will be prayer at 5:30 pm every day. On Maundy Thursday, midnight prayer will start at 5:3 am followed by Morning Prayer pass over service. On Good Friday, Morning Prayer will be held at 5:30 am followed by Holy Mass and Good Friday services. Morning Prayer and Holy Mass will start at 8:00 am on Holy Saturday, while on Easter Sunday, the Morning Prayer and Easter services will start at 5:30 am.
MGOS Church is the only Orthodox Syrian church in Nagaland under the diocese of Kolkata. The church is also running MGM Hr Sec School, MGM Hostel, and MGM College of Teacher Education in Dimapur under the registered ‘St. Thomas Mission Society’, the release added.
