MH-10 lifts Evergreen Club Open Volleyball Tournament 2022

MH-10, Nagaland lifted the forty sixth edition of the Evergreen Club Open Volleyball Tournament 2022 at Soyim Aonglenden, Ungma, by beating Longterok Senden. The tournament was organized by the Evergreen Club, Ungma, Mokokchung.

Shashank Pratap Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, graced the closing ceremony as the guest of honour. The Deputy Commissioner in his speech said that sports should not be considered as a co-curricular activity but should be taken as a career option. He said that more effort should be put to encourage youngsters to pursue sports as a career and help their positive energy since the government is also putting in every effort to promote sports in the state. 

Earlier in the day, the two semi-final matches were played between Changtongya Volleyball Association andMH-10, Nagaland where MH-10 won 16/25, 15/25, 11/25 and Longterok Senden Ungma (LSU)and Shipu where  LSU won 25/21, 25/20, 25/27 to enter the finals.

In an intense final match, MH-10, Nagaland proved too strong for LSU. MH-10, Nagaland won 20/25, 26/24, 12/25, 13/25.

Three individual prizes were given-- Player of the tournament was awarded to Aketo of LSU, Best Setter awarded to Tongpangsunep of MH-10, Nagaland, while Best Spiker was awarded to Ahika of MH-10, Nagaland. 

13 teams from different districts participated at the 46th Evergreen Club Open volleyball tournament 2022. The tournament was played as an intra-village tournament, however the 46th edition was played as an open volleyball tournament.
