Mhasilhusie Nagi is heavyweight champion

  Our Correspondent Kohima | October 28   24-year old Mhasilhusie Nagi from Jotsoma village on Friday emerged as champion in the Heavyweight category of the Naga Wrestle Mania 5 (King of the Ring Series 2016) at the Kohima Local Ground.   Nagi, who was the champion in the Angami Sports Association (ASA) Wrestling Meet 2016, defeated 30-year old Keduovilie Zumu from Tuophema village. Nagi was awarded cash prize of Rs. 50,000 while Zumu pocketed Rs. 30,000. The two losing semifinalists received Rs. 10,000 each.   In Junior Category, Mhasinyiizo Peseyie of Jotsoma village emerged as the champion after he defeated Abizo Nakhro, also of Jotsoma, in the final. The winner and runner-up received Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5000 respectively. Losing semifinalists Pusing H. Lungalam of New Sanglao, under Tuensang district, and Kuthovezo Medeo, of Yoruba, under Phek district, each received Rs. 2000.   Meanwhile, the grand finale – the King of the Ring Championship – will take place on October 29 from 10: 00 am onwards.   The champion will carry away cash prize of Rs. 1,20,000 while the runner-up will receive Rs. 60,000. Losing semifinalists will receive each Rs. 30,000.   The event is being organised by 3E Nagaland under the aegis of Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA).   Altogether, 45 wrestlers will vie for King of the Ring Championship event.
