Our Correspondent Kohima | October 29 Setting a mark in the Naga Wrestle Mania 5 (King of the Ring Series 2016), 24 year-old Mhasilhusie Nagi today emerged with the coveted title of “King of the Ring” 2016 here at Kohima Local Ground organized by 3E Nagaland under the aegis of Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA). Nagi, son of Nisako Nagi from Jotsoma (Kohima district), who also lifted the heavyweight championship title on Friday, downed Pfusato Tetseo in finals to emerge the champion title of “King of the Ring.” Weighing 90 kg and standing 5’10, Nagi entered the final after defeating Khoveto Lala in the semifinals. He downed Besiihveto Cumu (Phusacholdu) in the pre-quarter finals and Keduovilie Zumu (Tuophema) in the quarter finals. Nagi pocketed a cash prize of Rs. 1,20,000 along with belt and citation. Runner-up Pfusato Tetseo, son of Revusu Tetseo of Phuyoba (Phek district) found the final berth after defeating strong opponent Vekutho Soho in the semifinals. 22 year-old Tetseo, standing 6 feet and weighing 82 kg, a two time “King of the Ring” champion in the 1st and 2nd edition (2013 & 2013) downed Lorheshiito Sophie (Jakhama) and Kenisevi Meyase (Sechii-Zubza) in the pre-quarter and quarter finals respectively. Tetseo pocketed a cash prize of Rs. 60,000 along with citation. Khoveto Lala (25 years), son of Vehiita Lala of Khomi and Vekutho Soho (20 years), son of Hukhonieyi Soho of Phek village (both from Phek district) were the joint holder of third place. Lala defeated Mulutso Lohe (Yoruba) in the pre-quarters and Tavesuh Tetseo (Thuvopisu) in the quarter finals while Soho defeated Veneto Nakro (Khomi) in the pre-quarters and Zasevikho Meyatsu (Mezoma) in the quarter finals. Lala and Soho pocketed a cash prize of Rs. 30,000 each along with citation. Altogether, 34 wrestlers from lightweight and heavyweight categories vied for King of the Ring Championship event. Vechita Khesoh was conferred with the “Nagawrestlemania Hall of Fame -Class of 2016” Award for winning the heavyweight championship two times during 2014 & 15 and one time “King of the Ring Champion” in 2015. Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Resources & Sports, Music Task Force, and State Lotteries, Khriehu Liezietsu gave away prize to the winners. Meanwhile, the organizer has announced donors raffle draw result. The winning number is 0264 (Prize- Bike). The concerned have been asked to claim the same within three days.
