The Middle PWD Council, Kohima today celebrated its silver jubilee (1997-2022) under the theme” Remembering the pioneers.”
Er K Theünuo, Chief Executive Officer, Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL) unveiled the jubilee souvenir. Stating that jubilee is a time to reconcile and celebrate, he called upon the people to follow the principle of “forgive and forget” the past mistake and march forward with a feeling of oneness. It is a special time for renewal and rebuilding of all relationships, he said. He said that the colony will emerge progress when there is peace and unity.
Er Theünuo maintained that the youth plays a vital role towards peaceful environment within colony and at the same time asked them to be sincere and dedicated in their approach.
Tosozhol Natso, chairman Middle PWD Council delivered short speech. The celebration also witnessed the inauguration of waiting shed and presentation of jubilee gift to the pioneers of the colony and the oldest man and woman of the colony.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Er James Khala, convenor Jubilee Planning Committee.
Special song was presented by Jubilee Choir and Vilekhonuo Sanchu.
The programme was compered by Sarah Konyak while Rev. Phomler Van pronounced dedicatory prayer. Middle PWD Council vice chairman Tewetsolo Khamo led the service for the inauguration of waiting shed. Vote of thanks was pronounced by Kewepe Kapfo, co-convenor Finance Committee.
