Lazami, March 20 (MExN): Minister for PWD (R&B), Y. Vikheho Swu today visited Lazami village under Pughoboto sub-division to take stock of the fire victims that razed down three houses and a village youth building displacing five families and death of an elderly woman on March 15.
For immediate relieve to the fire victims, the Minister extended financial assistant to all the families and also donated CGI sheets and blankets.
Minister also expressed gratitude to the administration, volunteers from Lazami village and the neighbouring village of Mishilimi and Pughoboto Town for taking prompt action and averted the fire from further spreading more houses.
Interacting with the affected family along with GB’s, Village councils and Party Workers in the presence of the ADC Pughoboto, Avelu Ruho, Minister urged upon the villagers to set up proper village planning while building the house in the near future.
Minister was of the viewed that one should build the house given aside free space for constructing pavement for passage of vehicles in every village. He also encouraged the villagers to take up rain water harvesting on priority basic in every household for the benefit of all and also to effectively manage the situation in time of emergency arise.
