Minister Jacob calls for unity and co-existence

KOHIMA, JULY 22 (MExN): Minister for PHED and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi today graced the 43rd General Conference of Sümi Hoho, Kohima Unit, which was attended by Sümi Totimi Hoho,Sümi Kiphimi Küqhakulu, Sümi Officers' Union (Kohima), Kohima Sümi citizens and well-wishers. 

In his address, the Minister reminded the gathering that as residents of the state capital, it was their duty to be the community's ambassadors and act as harbingers of peace and communal harmony. He also stated that they must also make all-out and selfless efforts towards the overall growth and progress of Kohima. In the course of co-existing with other communities, he warned them against complacency and said that they must remain vigilant against 'ism'. 

The Minister mentioned that unity within the Sümi community and with other Naga communities was the only way to go forward. Pointing out that nothing should be allowed to come in between the unity and progress of Naga society, the Minister said that the paramount duty of Nagas is towards “our land.” He extended his best wishes to the new office bearers of Sümi Hoho, Kohima and hoped that they would perform their duties with conviction and determination.
