Khashiho said that the Government has put all developmental works to a standstill, and hugely invested towards battling the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Efforts have been taken to provide safe transportation, safe quarantining of returnees i.e. students/workers numbering around 18,000 plus travelers/patients under treatment outside the state,” the Minister was quoted as stating by the DIPR.

Highlighting the new SOPs, the Minister further informed that refusal to accept returnees could lead to de-recognition of villages. He therefore called upon the public to cooperate with the government’s efforts.

Advisor, Eastern Sumi Hoho, L Kahuvi Yepthomi meanwhile lauded the medical and other frontline workers for their services. He said in order to accommodate more people in quarantine, extension works are to be carried out soon.
