Minister Kronu mourns Vengota Nakro’s demise

Kohima, June 11 (MExN): Nagaland Minister for Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu has mourned the demise of Late Vengota Nakro who passed away this morning.


The funeral service took place this afternoon at late Nakro’s residence in Phezhu, Jotsoma. Nakro, son of late Lhikhwenyi-ü and late Puthitso Nakro of Pholami village, Phek district, was born on February 20, 1956. He is survived by Adole Nakro (wife), two daughters and two sons.


He served the state government in different capacities at various places and retired as Additional Director in the Department of Soil & Water Conservation.


After two years of his retirement, he was appointed as consultant for UNDP project in Nagaland. He was actively involved in designing of FOCUS project Nagaland, and served as a Project Support Specialist of IFAD funded FOCUS project till his last breath.


He was engaged with Chakhesang Prayer Fellowship at Kohima Science College Phezhu Colony Jotsoma and in various organisations and church ministries. The Minister described Late Vengota Nakro as a humble, dedicated and efficient officer. He rendered his best service for Chakhesang community in particular and Nagas in general, the Minister said and expressed condolence to the bereaved family.
