Dimapur, October 30 (MExN): The Ministerial team of the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Nagaland, as part of their visitation tour visited Dimapur Government College on October 29.
Publicity & Media Cell, DGC in a press release stated that the team was led by Deputy Director of Higher Education, Medo, along with the Minister’s Personal Assistants - Talinukshi Imchen; Shikuto Aye; Lamsong, and personal OSD to Minister Akum O Tzudir.
The main objective of the visit was to get first hand information about grievances and for assessment and assimilation on important aspects of the institution.
The team had an interactive meeting with the Vice Principal (Principal in-charge) Alemla Imsong and IQAC Coordinator Dr Vitsosie Vuprü where the team was apprised of urgent needs of the college keeping in the 2nd Cycle of NAAC in 2020.
This was followed by an informal meeting with all the Head of Departments (HoDs) to garner grievances of each department.
Some pertinent issues relating to infrastructure development, teacher’s grievances and also student related issues were raised and discussed. The team also had a meeting with the RUSA committee and took stock of the activities done including floriculture, which was then followed by an inspection of the RUSA Park.
On behalf of the college, the Vice Principal acknowledged the visiting team for listening to the grievances and expressed hope that genuine concerns can be addressed at the earliest.
