Ministers calls on contractors to improve road condition

Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): Executive Members of the Nagaland Government Registered Class-1 Contractors’ Union (NGRC-ICU) met with Minister for Roads & Bridges, Kuzholuzo Nienu on April 26 at his official residence in Kohima. 

NGRC-1CU President K. Cangami and General Secretary L. Pukhato Sohe stated in a press release that while interacting with the members, the Minister said that contractors and PWD should work hand in hand for better results because the co-operation of the two is very important for successful implementation of the works. He said that contractors should not compromise on the quality of work and he will make sure that payments are prompt. 

The Union also explained to the Minister the various problems faced by them including tax problems levied upon them by various organizations which in turn hamper the work progress. Stating that the working system should come to a discipline, the Union requested the Minister to bring change during his tenure so that all Nagas benefit from it. Expressing their appreciation, the Union said that this is a first of its kind in Nagaland where the concern Minister has invited contractors to discuss issues and to work together to improve the road condition in the state. The Union assured the Minister to work together and cooperate with him.
