A 43 year-old man was arrested by the Dimapur police for alleged rape of a minor. According to the Dimapur police, the man was arrested on August 29 based on an FIR registered at the Women Police Station.
The FIR was filed on August 28 by the guardians of a 16 year-old girl, who was allegedly raped. It was filed based on the girl’s disclosure. The FIR stated, “… On 24/08/2020 the minor girl came down to meet her guardians and eventually complaint of sexual harassment amounting to rape. As stated by the minor (victim), she was raped four times on different occasions, the last being on 23/08/2020.”
The police declined to divulge further details, while stating that investigation was on.
