Peren, February 12 (MExN): In a bid to widen outreach and improve access to welfare benefits, the Directorate of Minority Affairs Nagaland organised an Awareness and Sensitisation Programme on Minority Welfare Schemes at the DC’s Conference Hall, Peren, on February 12.

Delivering the keynote address, Director, Directorate of Minority Affairs, Rohit Singh said the Department, established in 2023, is undertaking district-level outreach to familiarise stakeholders with various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and welfare initiatives.

He informed that the Peren visit marked the sixth district covered under the ongoing awareness drive.

Singh noted that at the national level, Christians, Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis and Jains are recognised as minority communities.
