Kisama, December 10 (MExN): The newly crowned Miss Nagaland 2022, Hikali Achumi from Zunheboto district, 1st Runner-up Kenei Ritse, Phek district, and 2nd Runner-up, Jentiren Jamir from Mokokchung district attending the last cultural programme of the 23rd Hornbill festival 2022 on December 10.
A DIPR report stated that organized by the Department of Culture, the cultural programme concluded with the Director, Ministry of Cultural, Government of India, Deepak Israni, Minister for Rural Development, Metsubo Jamir as the honoured guest.
Starting the afternoon show, Rengma cultural troupe performed a folk dance described as Sükhunki which is performed by both men and women and involves jumping and leaping accompanied by a sustained war cry. This is performed during the Rengma premier festival- the Ngada festival. Following the programme, three ladies from Angami cultural troupe presented the action song Tsaho Kroko.
The Wangala dance performed by Garo Cultural Troupe, Ekranipathr village mesmerized tourists through their dance that signifies the thanksgiving to the Sun God or Misi Saljong. Others troupes included Garo, Zeliang, Lotha, Sumi, and Ao tribes.
