The journey towards the Miss Wokha 2026 crown officially began with an orientation and sashing ceremony held at Zumba Fitness, Wokha on September 18 bringing together seven contestants for the pageant.

Three more contestants are expected to enter the competition through wildcard entries.

Welcoming the contestants, Event Director of Miss Wokha 2026, Thungbeni Kikon, encouraged them to embrace the experience beyond the competition. She emphasised that the pageant was not solely about beauty, but also about responsibility, as the eventual winner would represent Wokha district at Miss Nagaland.

Kikon also reminded the contestants to uphold the rules and decorum of the pageant, noting that their conduct throughout the competition would reflect their individual personalities. She encouraged them to support one another, build friendships and make the most of their time together.

Speaking during the opening session, L Kikon of Glamorous Event Management highlighted the significance of the sash, describing it as a symbol of identity and the beginning of each contestant’s journey towards the Miss Wokha title.

He said the pageant provides contestants an opportunity to represent themselves, their community and the values they uphold. Beyond the title, he said, the platform seeks to foster confidence, individuality and a sense of social responsibility among the participants.

The event concluded with a contract signing session following the sashing ceremony.
