Kohima, October 24 (MExN): The Modern Institute of Teacher Education, Kohima organised an outreach activity for creating awareness on Health and Hygiene to Chedema village community on October 22.
According to Dr Velankanni Alex, the coordinator of the Outreach and Extension activities, it was held to enable the student-teachers to develop awareness on engagement with community service and social responsibility.
A total of 71 Student-Teachers of the Semester-III visited the village and held a formal programme with the village’s youth organization president and members about the theme of the outreach activity “Be the Change.’
Later, the team divided into four groups and participated in a creating awareness on “Health and Hygiene” and “Cleanliness Drive.”
The community also interacted with students and asked many questions, an MITE release said.
MITE Principal Dr Kate Dandesh Kumar and faculty Limanenla Lkr also motivated the community people on health and hygiene.
