Newmai News Network Aizawl | August 30 Mizoram will host the third edition of Xchange North East Youth NGO summit from October 3 to 5. The event, which is an initiative of a Dimapur based CAN Youth, will be hosted by a Mizoram based NGO, Full Life Access Trust (FLAT) at Berawtlang here, leaders of FLAT said on Thursday. They said that the summit will see participation of young leaders from all the North Eastern states who are in NGOs or social enterprises and are working for development of the region. The North East Youth NGO summit-Aizawl will be a kind of platform for young leaders and entrepreneurs from the region to come together, share ideas, learn from icons and experts and mobilize resources. The participating youth leaders will present their ideas and work to an expert panel and the most promising leaders will also gain funding and mentoring from experts, FLAT leaders said. During the summit, sessions and panel discussions on issues related with sustainable development, entrepreneurship and employment in the North East and youth participation in politics will be held, they added. The summit will see participation from many promising and passionate young leaders who get the opportunity to interact with and learn from other youth icons as well as experienced leaders and role models involved in development, politics, business and academic. To start the NE youth NGO summit ball rolling, the organizing team from different states visited Aizawl between August 22 and 28 and met district administration, department officials, private companies, corporation and Mizoram NGOs, who gave positive response to the organizers. The organizers of the proposed summit are looking to partner with the government departments, development organizations, companies, business leaders among others for sponsorship. Initiated by CAN Youth, the first NE Youth NGO was held in Dimapur, Nagaland in 2016 and the second edition of the summit was held last year in Shillong, which saw participation young leaders from 22 NGOs across the North East region.
