Newmai News Network Aizawl | July 26 Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC), the lone government agency for youth development in Mizoram, will conduct pre-recruitment training to facilitate recruitment of about 200 youths from Mizoram in the Indian Army and Central Armed Police Forces. Speaking to reporters at a press conference here on Thursday, MYC chairman and Congress legislator, Joseph Lalhlmpuia said massive efforts are being taken to recruit Mizo youths as much as possible in the Indian Army and the Central armed forces. He said that pre-recruitment training for any interested students will be conducted from early August in view of the upcoming army recruitment rally which will be held in October and Central Armed Police Force (constable) Examination to be conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SCC). The pre-recruitment training will be held in all the eight district headquarters of the state, he added. Joseph further said that the state government declared the current year as “mass recruitment in the Indian Army” for the Mizoram youths. According to the MYC chairman, he had asked Zonal Army Recruitment Officer in Shillong to change the date of army recruitment rally for Mizoram as state assembly elections are likely to be held in late November. “The officer agreed to our request and decided to carry out recruitment rally for Mizoram during October 3 to 6,” Joseph said. Joseph Lalhlimpuia also said that the pre-recruitment training will be conducted under the supervision of respective district deputy commissioners. About 4,913 posts are laying vacant for schedule tribe students in Central Armed Police Force, Examination to be conducted by SSC for recruitment in various central forces like Border Security Forces (BSF), Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF), Central Reserved Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Assam Rifles, among others. For admission to pre-recruitment training, interested candidates may approach MYC office in Aizaw, MYC coaching centre in Lunglei and respective DPC office, SSA in Champhai, Serchhip, Siaha, Lawngtlai, Kolasib and Mamit districts. Joseph Lalhlimpuia said that many youth have got prestigious jobs in government, commercial banks and Indian Army through an efforts of the MYC. According to him, the commission is currently conducting free coaching in Aizawl and Lunglei for various competitive exams under SSC. MYC has been set up by an Act of the Mizoram State Legislature in 2008. It has been given statutory responsibility for promotion, exploration and embracement of youth welfare. The commission concentrated its activity in providing coaching and guidance for All India Services and State Services.
