Newmai News Network Aizawl | March 28 The Mizoram government is working to implement the 7th Central Pay Commission’s recommendation from the next fiscal 2018-19, Mizoram Finance Minister Lalsawta informed the state legislature on Wednesday. Replying to queries from five members, Lalsawta said the government has, on November 13 last year, formed a four member Pay Implementation Committee headed by former Finance minister and the current vice chairman of the State Planning Board, H Liansailova, to study the feasibility of the implementation of the pay commission’s recommendation in the state. He said that the government has been waiting for the recommendation of the pay committee, which is yet to submit its report and recommendations to the government. The minister said that the pay committee was instructed to submit its report within 6 months of its formation and the state cabinet will take final decision when the committee submits its report. The committee may not take six months though it was given six month time to submit its report, he added. He said that the state government will incur additional expenditure of Rs. 46.93 crore monthly and Rs. 563.24 core annually when the 7th central pay commission’s recommendation is implemented. In December last year, spearheaded by Federation of Mizoram Government Employees and Workers (FMGE&W), employees of all departments under Mizoram government had staged three days mass casual leave agitation today, demanding immediate implementation of the 7th Pay Commission's recommendations in the state.
