Mokokchung, July 5 (MExN): In response to landslides and rock falls, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mokokchung Thsuvisie Phoji has issued a travel advisory for all travelers in the region. The advisory pertains to the ongoing road-widening project from a single lane to an intermediate lane between Mokokchung and Chare via Dikhu, which has created hazardous conditions for commuters and onsite workers.
"Due to the massive landslides and rock falls occurring along the Mokokchung to Chare via Dikhu road, there will be a complete closure of vehicular movement along this stretch of the highway from the issue of this order until the end of the monsoon season or until further notice," stated the DC.
Travelers are advised to use the alternative route through Sewak Gate, Moalenden, Meyilong, and Chare to ensure their safety.
This detour is expected to mitigate the risks associated with the dangerous conditions on the primary route. The travel advisory will remain in effect until the end of the monsoon season or until further updates are provided by the authorities.
