Mokokchung, October 21 (DIPR): Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of its existence, Mokokchung District Pensioners’ Association held a programme at town Hall Mokokchung on October 21 where hundreds of pensioners from all over the district attended.
Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel IAS, in his exhortation paid tribute to the departed souls of those pioneers of the Association and asked the pensioner gathered to celebrate the jubilee to feel lucky to be happily retired in sound health. He urged them to think positive in life saying that with all the experiences they have, they should consider themselves as the source of wisdom and knowledge for the younger generations. Earlier, the DC also released the jubilee Souvenir magazine and gave away the commendation certificates.
T. Senka Ao dwelt on the topic “Whetstone” while jubilee greetings were delivered by President, All Nagaland Pensioners’ Association and President Wokha District Pensioners’ Association. Other highlights included short speech by L.T Aier, Pastor MTBA, invocation by Rev. Ponen Longchar, welcome address by President Mokokchung District Pensioners’ Association, I.B Meren and vote of thanks by the Convenor, Jubilee Planning Committee, Y. Lanu Imchen. The programme was chaired by R. Ayim Longkumer.
