Mokokchung, October 6 (MExN): The Mokokchung Police and District Administration sealed a fuel filling station here today after receiving complaint from some consumers citing ‘defective machines’. All the four fuel dispensers at the filling station, located at Sungkomen Ward, have been ‘sealed’ and will reportedly be investigated tomorrow by authorities.
The Ongpangkong Kaketshir Mungdang (OKM), a students’ union, in a complaint letter addressed to the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung claimed that one of its members on October 5 discovered that the meter indicator in one of the fuel dispensers was malfunctioning.
It was claimed that the meter indicated 2 litres when only 1 litre was actually dispensed. The OKM also submitted a copy of “statement of admission of guilt” signed by Deepak Acharya, the manager of the filling station wherein it was stated that the manager admitted “the use of defective machines since 4th of October 2016.” The OKM also claimed that two of the dispensers in the filling station were malfunctioning. The OKM in its letter appealed that “stern action be taken at the earliest” against the manager and the staff of the filling station.
