Mkg prepares for parliamentary election

Mokokchung, March 7 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman, Mokokchung, District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Murohu Chotso  has alerted all Heads of Offices in the district with regard to the forthcoming parliamentary election scheduled for next month.

Addressing the monthly DPDB meeting at the conference Hall of ADC Planning, Murohu Chotso asked all the officers to gear up for undertaking the greatest democratic exercise in the district. He also said that exercise has already begun such as requisition of vehicles, man power for successful conduct of the poll.

Reviewing the minutes of the last meeting, the members deliberated on acute shortage of teaching faculty in Physics, chemistry and Functional English in Fazl Ali Collage (FAC) Mokokchung with serious concern. FAC Principal, Chubala informed the members that proposal has already been sent to the department with an urgent request to fill up the vacant posts to ensure that students do not suffer for want of teachers. DPDB Vice chairman also shared his concern over shortage of teaching faculty in the three departments.

The meeting also discussed the representation submitted by Ao Senden seeking the recommendation of the DPDB for introducing NST Bus Day service (Daily) between Mokokchung and Guwahati; however in the absence of concerned department views on the subject, it was decided to take up in the next meeting. The Board members also recommended setting up of Jubilee Memorial College of the Mokokchung Town Ao Baptist church.

The meeting also discussed on government transaction with SBI and diversion of fund from SBI to other banks and its related issues. The discussions ended with Vice Chairman informing the members that he would hold discussion with SBI Officers over the issue.

The meeting also welcomed the proposal for holding awareness programme for District Level officers by Reserve Bank of India to remain alert against fake financial institutions as many innocent people are being cheated by them.

The meeting also referred back the proposal for registration of Mokokchung District Farmer’s Union as the application was not supported by complete documents.
