Mokokchung, June 6 (MExN): The newly constructed Sakhi One Stop Centre (OSC), Mokokchung building was inaugurated on June 6, with Commissioner & Secretary, Department of Social Welfare & Administrator, NSSWB, Martha R Ritse, as the special guest.

One-Stop Centres (OSCs) are intended to support women affected by violence, in private and public places, within the family, community, and at the workplace. It also gives holistic services (Health, psychosocial support, legal and police services) to survivors under one roof and free of cost, stated a DIPR report.

The special guest Martha R Ritse, urged the concerned department and all the stakeholders to create awareness by letting the people know that such a place is in the district to support women affected by violence.

Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh, IAS in his brief speech maintained that the function of Sakhi One Stop Centre is a sort of single window system for girls as it handles all the cases related to violence against women. He said ‘women folk should not hesitate to come to the Centre for help as everything is administered by women at the centre.’ 

Earlier the special guest unveiled the plaque, dedicatory prayer was said by Associate Pastor, MTBA, Yanglo Pongen and the building report was presented by Sentilong Ozukum, SDO (C) Hq & Nodal Officer, Sakhi-OSC, Mokokchung.
