MLA and Advisor to Sericulture and Minority Affair, Imkongmar along Sericulture department officials during their tour of Mokokchung sericulture farm on May 19.

DIMAPUR, MAY 24 (MExN): MLA and Advisor to Sericulture and Minority Affair, Imkongmar along with the director, joint director and deputy director of Sericulture, on their tentative tour visited the District Sericulture Farm at Ungma on May 19.
According to a press release issued by Immonger Pongen, Assistant Sericulture Officer, Mokokchung, the Advisor encouraged the district staffs and workers to continue to exude passion and enthusiasm on their duties. T Sanny Pongener, Director of Sericulture stressed on proper maintenance of the farm and extension works for uplift of the farmers.
Thereafter, the team held a meeting along with the staffs, private sericulture farmers and SHG's at the District Sericulture Office, Mokokchung. ASO Immonger Pongen delivered a power point presentation regarding the present status of the five government farms under Mokokchung District. He also pointed out a valuable aspect regarding Eri quilt which has been in practice since forefathers time and hence, a culture for the Ao Nagas which needs to be preserved.
The following day, the team visited the Seri farm at Longjang and Samvrudi Mulberry Project at Chungtiayimsen.
