MLA Khriehu Liezietsu along with officials and engineers of the PWD (Roads & Bridges) Department on Monday surveyed the Seithogei (Kohima-Dimapur NH-29) to IG stadium (Wokha Road) by pass road.
The road is not pliable at the moment.

After the survey, Chief Engineer (R&B) Kahuli Sema addressed a small gathering of leaders and elders from T Khel Council and Hourütsumia Council (L Khel) Kohima village where she stressed on the importance of the road. She said that if the road is upgraded and maintained properly, it would help ease traffic congestion in the capital town.

EE (R&B South Division) Vizoto Seletsu highlighted about the project which was taken up under the erstwhile SPA scheme but could not be brought to a satisfactory conclusion till today. Er Vizoto said that the road, if completed fully, would ease traffic in Kohima town by at least 15% (by diverting the vehicles which are headed to NH -61 or Wokha road without being made to enter Kohima town).

He also said the gradation and the other technical aspects of the road are good.

Stating that the road is useful and important, MLA Khriehu Liezietsu suggested that the same should be repaired and be made pliable at the earliest. Liezietsu also said that he would be discussing the matter with the higher authorities to take up development of the road seriously as it will not only ease traffic but also help in the expansion of the Kohima town.

Thepfuvilie Souhu, chairperson of T Khel, Kohima village while thanking the team, said the road would be very useful and will benefit everyone. He also said that the T Khel Council would extend all cooperation if the development of the road is taken up.
