MMC re-iterates stance on trade and commerce

Dimapur, September 21 (DIPR): Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) has reiterated that any person/party intending to do any kind of business within the MMC jurisdiction should compulsorily obtain permission/trade permit from Municipal authority and adhere to the laid down rules. Reiterating its standing orders in administration of trade and commerce in its jurisdiction, ADC and MMC Administrator, Kesonyu Yhome said rate fixed by competent authorities should be strictly complied with and products shall not be sold above the Maximum Retail Price (MRP). It has also directed all business establishments to display sign board in front of their establishment showing the name and the trade permit number. All shops and offices have also been directed to use CFL bulbs for lighting and they are also directed to place waste box (Use Me Box) in front of their shops for garbage disposal.
In its continuing effort to keep the town clean, the MMC further directed to shops to use 20 bio-micron poly bags and other non-bio degradable bags are not allowed. The MMC strictly prohibited throwing any waste products and materials into nullah/drain and construction of pit-latrine/septic tank/sock pit less than 10 (ten) meters from the source of well is also prohibited. The MMC further directed butchers/fish stalls/restaurants etc. to display latest rate board in their respective places. It has also informed all concern citizens in the town to keep their domestic animals chained/enclosure from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm warning anyone who violates the rules would attract legal action as per appropriate section of Bye Law and laid rules. MMC is one of the main tools in Mokokchung town responsible for achieving the distinction of one of the best town in the state as far as cleanliness is concern. Yet Mokokchung is far behind other hill towns in the region to be at par with them.
