
Dimapur, February 7 (MExN): The office of the Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) has expressed shock and said it is devastated to learn the fire incident in Mokokchung at MMC Shopping Complex 62 shops were razed while 73 shops were partially burnt which could be in tune of many crore.
“We are deeply pained not only for the material losses during the unfortunate incident but also more concerned about the livelihood of hundreds of family which has been affected and also for those involved in the indirect support system of the business ecosystem which may further involve hundreds of families,” CNCCI Chairman Dr Khekugha Muru and General Secretary Dr Seyievilie Mor stated in a press note.
As a business community the CNCCI deeply understands the hardship and difficult times that our fellow business community is going through during such loss and difficulty. On behalf of the business community of Nagaland, the CNCCI join in the pain and suffering of our fellow businesses men and women of the MMC shopping fire complex victims.
“We pray that God almighty will give them strength and ways to tied over the unfortunate incident,” it stated.
Meanwhile, the CNCCI has strongly urged the state government to look into this matter not only as a mere fire incident but from humane angles as this business supports hundreds of families livelihood, generating hundreds of employment and further supporting hundreds of indirect employment in the business ecosystem.
The CNCCI urged the state government to stand up to the occasion and provide every best possible support financially, materially, linkages to access the banking loans, and credit facilities to start afresh for the victims.
“The CNCCI strongly believes that such magnanimous decision by the state government will also in a long run give sense of security to the younger generation to venture into the business as it will send a positive message and seriousness of government of Nagaland of holding hands of business community in times of crisis and losses,” it added.
