
Dimapur, May 1 (MExN): Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), President, S Supongmeren Jamir has extended greetings to the Ao people on occasion of Moatsü Festival.
“As the festival marks the end of the hard work of the sowing season and the celebrations filled with merry-making, singing, and feasting, may the Almighty God bestow a rich harvest upon the community,” the NPCC President stated in his message.
Further stating that Moatsü is also a time to revisit our culture and display it in the finest way to be passed down to posterity, Jamir prayed, “May it also be a time for fostering peace, goodwill, brotherhood and oneness across society.”
The NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) has also conveyed festival greetings on the occasion of Moatsü of the Ao Nagas which usually falls on May 1-3.
MIP of NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) in a press release stated that Moatsü is a binding festival celebrated after the sowing season is over and is celebrated with singing and dancing both by the men and women folks in traditional attires.
‘May our Ao brothers and sisters continue to be the torchbearers and pioneers in many fields, and to instill a sense of responsibilities to other fellow Nagas,’ he added.
