
Phek, October 26 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Phek,RazouvolieDozo has informed all Village Council Chairmen and VDB Secretaries to identify and mobilise the workers in their jurisdiction for enrolment to e-Shram portal.
What is e-Shram portal?
e-Sharam Portal has been created as a database of unorganised workers in India by the Union of Labour & Employment.
After registration on the national portal, every unorganised worker will be issued an identity card that will be having a unique identification number of the worker.
The aim of the Ministry is to implement social security and welfare schemes on the basis of this database, a DIPR report informed, adding that the database would also help the government in policy and programme making for the unorganised workers.
Who can register?
As per the details provided by the DC Phek, any workers in the unorganised sector between 16-59 years can register on the portal.
The person should not be an income tax payer or a member of EPFO & ESIC and Government Servant.
Workers in unorganised sector such as migrant worker, agriculture worker, MGNREGA worker, ASHA worker, Anganwadi worker, self- help group, street vendor, traders, taxi drivers, domestic worker can register in this portal, it said.
“In short, any self-employed, home- based worker or wage worker can register,” it added.
Benefits:
1. e-Shram card received after registration will be accepted across the country
2. Social Security Schemes will be delivered through e-SHRAM portal
3. Helpful for Central and State Government while providing assistance during calamities/pandemic like COVID-19.
4. This national database would become the national platform to provide access to unorganised workers for getting any social security schemes or employment schemes and its benefits administered by the various Ministries/ Departments.

1. Aadhaar
2. Mobile number * * Aadhaar linked preferred* *
3. Bank Account Number with 1FSC code.
Mode of registration
1. Self-registration by visiting the e-SHRAM portal www.eshram.gov.in
2. By visiting the nearest CSC in case mobile number is not link with Aadhaar.
