Model Christian College hosts Autumn Fest

DIMAPUR, November 3 (MExN): Model Christian College celebrated its 2nd Annual Autumn Fest on November 2 under the theme "Embracing the Present." The event, held on the college campus, featured a day filled with performances, competitions, and activities for the students and community members in attendance.

Shembo Achumi, President of the Model Christian College Students’ Council (MCCSC) and Convenor of the event, opened the fest with a welcome address. This was followed by performances from students of Model Christian College (MCC) and Model Higher Secondary School (MHSS).

The Chief Guest, Neizokhotuo Belho, Chairman of Tsiepfü Tsepfe, AG Colony, Kohima, spoke about the significance of cherishing the present while learning from the past. Emphasizing harmony, he encouraged students to move beyond divisive ideologies and work together in unity. Following his address, Belho inaugurated the event’s food stalls, inviting attendees to explore a variety of culinary offerings.

The festival’s lineup also included an "intervene" session where Dream Notes, The Gears 4.0, and Skaniffa performed, creating an energized atmosphere for the crowd. Later, the informal session brought guest artists Rovi Metha & Coffee, Yemkong Somba, Akhrieze Lhoushe, and Dieze Sothu to the stage, who captivated the audience with their musical talents.

A highlight of the event was the inter-school dance competition, which saw spirited participation from local schools. Chandmari Higher Secondary School took home the top prize, judged by esteemed dancers K. Vito Sema and Viyeto Sumi, both prominent figures in the dance community of Nagaland.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Shakenye Seb, General Secretary of MCCSC, followed by a benediction from Shovelo Duolo, a B.A. 5th Semester student, marking the end of a memorable day celebrating talent, unity, and the present moment.
