A tug of war match during the Model Christian College sports meet.
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 22 (MExN): Model Christian College, Kohima held its Sports Week from November 19 to 22 at Science College Ground, Jotsoma.
The declaration of college sports was announced by Albert Arücho, Administrator, MCC, while Daripong Jamir, Sports Coordinator, MCC, conducted the oath taking for the players.
The students were divided into four groups namely, Renaissance, Guardian, Shield and Blazers. Some of the events that took place included football, volleyball, basketball, dash, relay, long jump, high jump, badminton, Table Tennis, chess, arm wrestling and tug of war for both men and women.
Exhibition matches were also played between Staff and students. Throughout the event, students were not only made to simply participate but also learn the rules of the games. Cooperation through team work was one of the main aims that were kept in mind behind the eventful competition among the four groups. The sports week ended with a jubilating ceremony where students were recognized for their achievements throughout the sports event.
