Modern College economics deptt discusses ‘Impact of Education on Economic Development’

Kohima, January 30 (MExN): A one-day workshop on the theme – “Impact of Education on Economic Development” was conducted by the Department of Economics, Modern College Kohima on January 29.
The workshop, sponsored by SBI Main Branch Kohima, had Prof B Kilangla Jamir, Department of Economics and Dean RDC (Research Development Cell), Nagaland University and Pemmichon Nakhedei Chief Manager, SBI Main Branch Kohima as the resource persons.
The former talked on “Education and its Impact on income in Nagaland” while the latter dealt with “Education and its Impact on Employment with Special Reference to Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME).”
Prof Kilangla said that “higher level of educational attainment is desirable in reducing income inequality “while Nakhedei stressed on Micro Small Medium enterprise and how the bank is ready to promote passionate entrepreneur, a press release from the college informed.
The workshop was chaired by Mhadeno Odyuo Assistant Professor, Department of Economics while the introduction and welcome address was delivered by L Athiko. It was followed by a special number by the 4th semester students.
The workshop concluded end with a vote of thanks by Viketouno Kire, Asst. Prof. Dept. of Economics, the release added.
