AgriTech – sourcing the best technology for agriculture
The retailing company will deal in a varied range of mechanized farming gear from global brands like Stiga, STIHL, Falcon, Concorde, VST Shakti and Crompton Greaves; besides, providing ‘green technology for rural and urban applications and disaster management equipments’. The workings of some of the equipments from STIHL were also demonstrated by company representatives.
AgriTech’s vision according to its founding CEO, Ranjit Jain: “...is a commitment to scout and source the best technology for agriculture as well as rural and urban applications from all around the country and the world, at a very competitive price.”
HK Khulu, in his inaugural address expressed optimism that the entrance of modern farming equipment into the state will aid the objective of achieving food sufficiency. Inspite of being tagged as a wholly agrarian state, Nagaland is still lacking behind in this aspect. Food grain deficiency in the state is around 44 percent, while the aim at present is to reduce it to around 21 percent, he said. ‘Vision 2020’ of the state which is aimed at attaining food security for all by the year 2020 can only be reached on a year-by year basis. Keeping the mission in mind, he opined that modern farming equipments like the ones demonstrated by the company will go a long way in achieving that aim.
