A Mokokchung bound passenger Tata Sumo bearing registration number NL02T- 2093 met with an incident some few kilometres away from Tsiesema Basa around 7:30 pm on Wednesday. The vehicle was coming from Dimapur via Peducha to Tsiesema when the accident occurred. The occupants include five males, four females and two minors including the driver. The other passengers escaped with minor injuries while a female passenger received grievous injuries including a broken arm. Since it was late evening, and with no ambulances nearby, the villagers of Tsiesema Basa helped the passengers, as well as transported the female passenger to the hospital. As per the source, the cause of the incident was believed to be ‘steering failure.’
