Mokokchung, May 21 (MExN): The Mokokchung District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) during its meeting held at the ADC (Planning) Conference Hall, Mokokchung on May 20 discussed and enquired from the parent department BSNL on the poor network service of BSNL telecom service in the district.
“After a thorough discussion and response taken from the department, the house expects the BSNL department to provide stable good service to the people in the district,” a DIPR report stated.
The meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of MLA Imkong L Imchen, approval of translated document of the Nagaland Village Councils Act, 1978. The members after deliberation decided to set up a special committee to study the translated (into local language) documents.
‘Livelihoods Project’ under common pool 2021-2022 was discussed and approved. Distribution and selection of the beneficiaries of the project will be done by the Chairman and Vice-Chairman.
Construction and development of the Public Park at Mokokchung Town were discussed. The house was informed of the possibility of land earmarked for the project based on which the house decided to send a proposal to the government for fund allocation for the development of the said Park.
The house also discussed and approved the construction of approach road widening and blacktopping from the Senior Treasury Office junction to DC’s Office Complex.
On the updates on the construction of the Mini Secretariat/District Office Complex at Mokokchung, the house discussed and unanimously agreed to alter the project into a multi-departmental office complex in Mokokchung. The house also considered and approved the project to proceed.
The house approved the registration of the society of Town Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung.
As a part of the World Environment Day Celebration 2022, a declaration of plantation drive was conducted by DFO Mokokchung, Dr Sentitula where she informed the house that the department is prepared to distribute 50,000 saplings to 88 villages in the district for its plantation. In the meantime, the House made a pledge for World Environment Day.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh IAS solicited the contribution and co-operation of all the departments and civil societies for the upliftment of the District.
The meeting was also attended by Speaker NLA, Sharingain Longkumer; Minister Metsubo, Minister Tongpang Ozukum, Advisor Imnatiba, and outgoing DPDB Chairman Mokokchung. All of them delivered short speeches congratulating the outgoing Chairman for his sincere contribution in taking the District forward during his tenure and also welcomed the new Chairman.
